Overview of the Wholesale Access Inaugural Home Equity
Lending Benchmark Study
- The study will examine both closed end (HEL)
and open end (HELOC) loans.
- Focus on larger multi-channel home equity
- Compile key metrics for direct (branch retail and consumer
direct) and indirect (broker and correspondent) production channels.
- Emphasis on sales, marketing, distribution,
product strategies and
best practices in originating second mortgages.
- Study the various ways in which home loans are
originated - i.e.
standalone, in conjunction with a first mortgage as a piggyback, as a
cross-sell as to an existing
customer, and so forth.
- Measure the impact of various mixes of products,
markets, distribution methods, staffing approaches, and automation on
revenues and expenses.
- Wholesale Access
has spent years developing its methodology in our
other benchmarking programs for prime lenders and homebuilder-owned mortgage
companies. We create useable data allowing effective peer comparisons
across groups of leading industry players.
